Legislation Reference Network

Terms of Reference

Following the NPHPG meeting in June 2001 the LRWG was repositioned as a Reference Network and no longer operates as a working group. Specific work being undertaken by the LRN is limited to oversight of the completion of projects commenced by the LRWG.

The objectives being addressed by the projects detailed relate to the LRWG’s original terms of reference which included promotion of national consistency across jurisdictions where it is appropriate and facilitation of national public health legislation and regulation review and reform activities, including the modernisation of public health legislation.

The LRN continues its role as a forum for information sharing, facilitation of communication and cooperation between jurisdictions in relation to developments in public health law and issues of national legislative relevance. The LRN also provides a pool of expertise and reference point for advice on public health law.
