Invasive Pneumococcal Disease Steering Committee (IPD SC)

Brief summary including goals and objectives

Also known as the Pneumococcal Working Party, the IPDSC is a joint CDNA and Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) subcommittee.

CDNA made invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) a notifiable disease in all Australian jurisdictions from January 2001. In 2001, State and Territory health authorities made changes to legislation to make reporting of all cases of IPD mandatory in each jurisdiction. The Committee has published “Invasive pneumococcal disease in Australia, 2001” in Commun Dis Intell 2002;26:505-519.
