CDNA Membership

Chair

The Chair of CDNA is appointed by the NPHP for a term of 2 years. CDNA members appoint the Deputy Chair for a period of 2 years.

Jurisdictional members

Each (Australian) jurisdiction nominates a person with expertise and authority in relation to communicable disease surveillance and control matters. These members form the Jurisdictional Executive Group (JEG) of CDNA.

Nominees of key national organisations

Agencies that are considered to play a key national role in communicable disease surveillance and control are invited to nominate a person to membership of CDNA.

Expert advisory members

CDNA may extend membership invitations to a small number of individuals where it decides that their expertise in surveillance and control allows them to make a significant contribution to the Network. These members would normally have a term of two years, renewable at the invitation of the JEG.

Invited observer members

Representatives of other governments or communicable disease networks in the region may be invited to attend meetings as observers and to participate in discussion.
