Comprehensive management guidelines for natural recreational waters.

Comprehensive management guidelines for built environment recreational waters.

Potable Water Reuse
To examine the health issues associated with drinking water reuse of sewage wastewater and determine the feasibility of developing health-based guidelines.

   
     
 

Issue: Drinking Water

Need Addressed (as identified in the National Environmental Health Strategy Implementation Plan):

Improve the adequacy of rural and remote community water supplies.

Jurisdiction: Tasmania

Projects:

Legislative requirement for annual reporting by all local government authorities on the quality of drinking water and publication by the Director of Public Health of a consolidated Report on Drinking Water Quality.

Notification requirements for water contamination.

Advice to rural communities and local authorities on the protection of public health in relation to drinking water.
